Rare 1950s Miriam Haskell Red Currants Necklace

$ 750.00

This is a very unusual Miriam Haskell necklace circa 1950. Stamped "Miriam Haskell" on the clasp, this piece was made just after Miriam's brother Joseph took over the company and implemented a new standard of signing all pieces, which Miriam typically had not done. The cascades of currants are made of round red glass beads, green seed beads, and bell caps. This is very fun, pretty piece and the fruit cascades throughout, even off the filigree clasp. We can totally picture it on Lucille Ball, who loved Haskell's jewelry and often wore her pieces on her television show. Fans of the 50s are primed to pair this piece with a New Look dress, drop the needle on Tootie Fruity, and bop 'til they drop.
