1960s Gucci Sterling Silver and Enamel Buckle Bracelet

$ 1,600.00

Italian fashion house Gucci began as a maker of fine leather goods and the equestrian buckles and bits of the brand's beginnings are still an integral part of Gucci designs. This sterling silver and enamel example of the classic buckle bracelet dates to the 1960s. It has the pre 1968 Florence Italy Hallmark and the Makers Mark of Salvadori Natale. Bands of red and black enamel wrap around this hinged bangle, which closes just like a belt buckle: pick your “notch” then buckle it closed with the fold-over clasp. This iconic piece of vintage Gucci silver was produced in a variety of different enamel colors, but we love this red and black version.

Condition

Excellent vintage condition. This bracelet has no enamel loss. There are some very small barely visible scratches on the silver, appropriate for its age.

Hallmarks

The piece is hallmarked Gucci, Italy, 925, a polygon cartouche with 282 (Salvadori Natale) and FI (Firenze) inside, and a diamond hallmark with S inside.

Measurements

Best accommodates a wrist sized 5 3/4" to 6 3/4". Measures 5/8" wide at the enamel and 1" wide at the buckle. Weighs 64.3 grams.
