Circa 1890 English Sterling Silver Butterfly Wing Ring

$ 135.00

In the 21st century it's generally accepted that people do not like insects. You don’t want them near you or on you. However, the Victorians were a little less squeamish than their contemporary counterparts because for a while it was fashionable to adorn clothing, hats, and jewelry with insect shells and wings. Personally, we are huge fans of insect jewelry at Icon Style, and we can assure you this late Victorian sterling silver butterfly wing ring can be appreciated in any century. Just look at it, it's gorgeous! The iridescent wing of the blue morpho butterfly shines like a subtle blue sapphire under a marquise shaped crystal. The central setting is framed by a decorative border and a beautiful three part split shank. This ethereal ring really looks like it's carrying a little piece of magic.
