Victorian 14K Gold Old European Cut Diamond and Enamel Bracelet with Forget-Me-Nots

$ 1,450.00

Indulge in the delicate detail of this 14K gold Victorian bracelet. A series of chased links culminate in a wonderful floral clasp adorned with turquoise and white enamel flowers and a tiny, twinkling, old euro cut diamond center. This piece closes with a hidden box clasp; we love how the Victorians so often made a hidden clasp into the focal point of a piece! Even the safety chain is in delicate harmony with the design. The wonderfully warm hue of the yellow gold is paired with a perfect patina and the bracelet's chased links are thoughtfully arranged to radiate out from the central clasp. Typical of Victorian disposition, nothing is insignificant and this clasp is enameled with symbolism. Forget-me-nots and primroses swirl around the central diamond. The blue forget-me-nots in the center are associated with undying love while the primroses on the outer edges represent the joy of youth. Suddenly, the elaborate and feminine style of this bracelet becomes a statement of everlasting affection and young love.

Condition

Excellent condition. This bracelet has 2 of the tiniest of dings on the side, which we really had to search for with a loupe. There is no enamel loss. In the photos you will see one blue petal where there was an air bubble when it was originally enameled, and one white petal where there is a bit of gold atop.

Hallmarks

The piece is hallmarked “14K” along with an unidentified makers mark on the tongue of the clasp.
