1960s Panetta Vermeil "Opal" Glass and Rhinestone Cocktail Ring

$ 275.00

Benedetto Panetta began his jewelry career working with platinum in his native Naples, Italy, until financial issues prompted him to immigrate to New York City in 1901. After working at costume jewelers Trifari and Pennino throughout the '30s, Panetta founded his own company in 1945. Panetta's background in both fine and costume jewelry inspired him to create costume jewelry that appeared authentic. The famous Panetta motto was, "If it doesn't look 'real,' go back to the drawing board," and this vermeil (gold over sterling silver) cocktail ring certainly upholds that standard. The impressive cluster of prong set opalescent glass and rhinestones sparkles and shines just like opals and diamonds. Allow this ring to be the grand statement of any cocktail party and rest assured not a single reveler will mistake it for anything but real!
