Late Victorian Sterling Silver Baby Ring with Ruby Red Brilliants

$ 165.00

The Victorians were a fancy bunch; I think that's something we can all agree on. The prevailing attitude towards fashion was “more is more” and it was not just reserved for adults. Children's attire was usually used to make a statement about the social class of the parents, and what screams wealth more than decking your baby out in jewelry? This sweet rhodium plated sterling silver baby ring is a beautiful example of the style of the time. It features three oval faces framed by a beadwork design. Each face features an engraved radiating star centered by a red brilliant stone, a motif indicative of the era.  Although it is no longer common to buy rings for your toddler (but why not? it would be cool), this ring would be a very stylish pinky or midi ring for an adult.

Condition

Excellent antique condition with very slight wear to the rhodium plating on one of the oval faces. (See photo)
