Sunday Brunch: Spring Has Sprung!

April 19, 2020

Dear friends,

Spring has sprung, and I don't know about you but I am very grateful for the change in weather! Solitary walks in the fresh air have been one of the things that have helped our team stay sane during this time. I'm lucky to live close to two wonderful places to soak up the Spring weather while maintaining social distance- Greenwood Cemetery and Prospect Park. Make sure to take a minute for yourself this week to watch the clouds, get some sun, and admire the flowers!

But of course we need some indoor activities too!
  • Exciting news!!! Check out "The Plot Against America" on HBO! We had the honor and delight of providing some of the jewelry for the show, and its a great watch!
  • "Stay in your House with Veloria" mixes! One of our favorites James Veloria is putting together mixes that are 100% the perfect soundtrack for playing dress up and voguing in the mirror.
  • Our neighbor the Metropolitan Opera's has an "At-Home Gala" Stream coming up on April 25th!

This week we would like to share some pieces with you that celebrate the season! So find somewhere sunny, grab some lemon cake and tea, and settle down to admire these lovelies!

 This week: Spring Has Sprung!

Silver Floral Necklace c. 1915 with Marcasites and Brilliants $325

1930s Italian Floral Mosaic Bracelet $275

Fun Fact: Shell art was a fashionable hobby for high class Victorian ladies (who spent about as much time in the house as we do now) and conchology, the study of shells, was also seen as a suitable pastime.

Early Victorian Cowrie Shell Green and Yellow Gold Filled Flower Brooch

Retro Sapphire, Emerald, and Diamond Floral Bracelet in 14k Rose Gold

Mid Century Pearl and Ruby Floral 14k Gold Cocktail Ring $950

Unusual 1930s Sterling Silver, Marcasite and Enamel Forget-Me-Not Necklace
Fun Fact: The name "forget-me-not" wasn't used for this flower until the 1500s, when the Middle Ages were ending and sentimentality and romance becoming prevalent. Before that they were called Myosotis which derives from the Ancient Greek for "mouse's ear."

Late Victorian Thomas L Mott Sterling Silver Butterfly Wing Necklace (sold)

Victorian Enamel Sterling Silver Padlock Charm "amazing for your #neckmess" $395

Fun Fact: According to an old wives' tale, planting tulips in your garden is good luck! If you don't have a garden, carrying a tulip with you also works!

Leni spots some hyacinths popping up during her daily exercise!

Deanna enjoys sunshine and blue skies from her terrace

Audrey admires the greenery as she makes her way back from Prospect Park
